Iva and Gloria

2026.01.23. , 20:00

Helyszín: Vodice Cultural Center

On Friday, January 23, the Vodice Arts and Culture Center will host the Kerekeš Theater with its award-winning hit play IVA ÉS DICSŐSÉG (IVA AND GLORY), which has been filling theaters across the country since its premiere last March.
The witty script was written by the actresses themselves, Gloria Dubelj and Iva Šimić Šakoronja, and the play was directed by Jan Kerekeš.

ABOUT THE PLAY:
Iva and Gloria are two friends, a mother and a cleaning lady, who have tried their hand at acting several times. Working in the theater, even as cleaning ladies, gives them the opportunity to stand on stage, be in the spotlight, and face reality and their own problems head-on. The stage, the set, and the props fascinate them, and they quickly give up cleaning to slip into the roles of two women from Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split, presenting with a witty approach the harsh reality and bitterness of everyday people today on the streets, in cafes, in the neighborhood, and even among their friends and their own families.
Seemingly supporting each other, our heroines discover many things about themselves through the staging of different characters, which come to the surface and shake their friendship.
